12/10 – Holiday Cabaret to benefit VT rebuild
Saturday at the Manatee Performing Arts Center in Bradenton
A Special Performance for This Holiday Season
This special event will unite many of the stars from the Manatee Performing Arts Center and Venice Theatre to bring some joy, entertainment, laughter, and tender moments to celebrate this season of giving.
The Holiday Cabaret is dedicated to the recovery and rebuild of the Venice Theatre after Hurricane Ian. The Venice Theatre Board will match all gifts to the theatre – up to $500,000 – through December 31st.
We are so grateful to the Manatee Performing Arts Center for organizing this event and giving ALL proceeds to our hurricane restoration! Thank you to the following performers who are scheduled to appear:
Rick Bogner, Kelly Burnette, Nancy Denton, Caitlin Ellis, Jason Ellis, Kim Gardner-Kollar, Kristofer Geddie, Andrea Keddell, Scott Keys, Mark Netherly, Joey Panek, Kathryn Parks, Vera Samuels, Tap Kats, Corinne Woodland, Sarah Yonko, Alexander Zickafoose
The performance will be held in the Manatee Performing Arts Center’s Stone Hall at 502 Third Avenue West in Bradenton FL 34205.
If you cannot attend the performance in person, you can purchase access to a streaming version of the show that will be sent out the following week.
A night of hilarity starring Allie Hunter, Ava Dillhyon, Avery Vance, Delaney Lockwood, Ella Piotrowski, Evie Hunter, Gianna Weerasooriya, Hannah Randi, Haylee Fadley, Katelin Lane, Michael Snyder, Nikolas Messer, and Riley Vance! Special thanks to our host, Troll Music.
Saturday Dec. 17 at Scarlet Macaw from 10 a.m. until they’re gone! A portion of the cookie sales will benefit Venice Theatre. Thank you Scarlet Macaw Resort Wear and Mega Sweet Tooth!
12/17 – Arabian Nights Auditions
Saturday the 17th from 2-5 p.m.
Through a mixture of song, dance, puppetry, and illusion, the magical folk stories of the Islamic Golden Age deliver a message of acceptance, freedom, and forgiveness.
This show was originally cast and in rehearsals for an October performance run, but Hurricane Ian reared his ugly head and the show had to be rescheduled for Feb. 24 – March 5, 2023. We’re delighted we can still present Arabian Nights this season, but we’ve lost some of our original cast members due to the delayed schedule.
Director Kelly Duyn will post more information and a sign-up link soon. For now, actors of all ages are encouraged to save the date!
12/19 – An Enchanted Evening with Barbra
Monday the 19th at the Venice Community Center
Starring Sharon Owens
Sharon Owens takes you on a journey through the Streisand years — ’60s Broadway, ’70s Disco, and ’80s films. You will laugh, cry, and chuckle at Sharon’s precise interpretation of the infamous Streisand, and be amazed as their personas intertwine. Acclaimed as “the best tribute artist,” you will feel as though you’ve spent an enchanted evening with Barbra!
THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD AT THE VENICE COMMUNITY CENTER. 326 S. Nokomis Ave., Venice
More concerts will be on sale soon. We are working diligently to reschedule as many events as possible. Stay tuned for the next concert to go on sale. (If you had tickets before Hurricane Ian, you will receive a notification when any event is rescheduled.)
