Sarasota Concert Association Announces Its
2022 Great Performers Series Season

SCA’s Great Performers Series returns in 2022 with a dazzling lineup of world-renowned orchestras, a chamber ensemble, and outstanding solo artists. Highlights
include the Detroit Symphony Orchestra with renowned cellist Alisa Weilerstein, the
Russian National Orchestra, pianist Emanuel Ax, and the Takács Quartet.
Sarasota Concert Association (SCA) celebrates its 77th season with
a dazzling lineup of acclaimed classical artists and ensembles. SCA’s 2022 Great
Performers Series season, which runs January 20 through March 15, features the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra with cellist Alisa Weilerstein (January 20, 7:30 p.m.,
at the Van Wezel); pianist Emanuel Ax performing an all-Chopin program (February
1, 7:30 p.m., at the Van Wezel); the Russian National Orchestra with 19-year-old
piano sensation Alexander Malofeev (February 8, 7:30 p.m., at the Van Wezel);
violinist Benjamin Beilman and pianist Yekwon Sunwoo (February 25, 7:30 p.m.,
at Riverview Performing Arts Center); and the Takács Quartet with pianist Joyce
Yang (March 15, 7:30 p.m., at Riverview Performing Arts Center).
“We’re thrilled to be able to return to the concert hall and resume our Great
Performers series in January 2022,” said Linda Moxley, SCA’s executive director.
“It’s an exciting season, highlighted by the fact that we were able to bring back three
of the artists who were scheduled to be part of our canceled 2021 season.”
