The Parker Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat Welcomes New Manatees
The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is thrilled to announce the arrival of two new manatees, Morado and Wicket! Transferred from SeaWorld Orlando on March 5th, these juvenile males are undergoing rehabilitation after being rescued from cold stress syndrome.
Wicket, rescued from Bear Creek in St. Petersburg, also carries a scar from a boat strike. Both manatees weigh around 300 pounds and are on track for a potential release in winter 2025.
