SIDEWALK ASTRONOMY
at Bishop Planetarium on Friday, March 15
The Local Group of Deep Sky Observers, a Bradenton/Sarasota group of astronomy enthusiasts, is pleased to announce our next public Sidewalk Astronomy event.
Held in partnership with our friends at the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature, Sidewalk Astronomy this month will be held at the Bishop Planetarium in downtown Bradenton on FRIDAY, March 15th starting a little after 7:30 p.m.
At this free event, you’ll have a chance to see the Moon, Jupiter, and much more through powerful telescopes! You’ll even have a chance to win a FREE Celestron StarSense Explorer 10″ Dobsonian telescope! The winner will also receive a complimentary 2-year LGDSO membership! (a $35 value).***
The Bishop has also partnered with the FEWD Taco Tent and the Edible Cookie Dough Café for you to enjoy a bite to eat while observing the universe. Drinks, including beer, wine, soda, and water, will be available for purchase.
In addition to telescopes and tacos, you’ll have a chance to see The Bishop’s newest Planetarium show, Big Astronomy, at 8:00, 8:45, and 9:00 p.m. for just $3 per person.

When: Friday, March 15, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.
Where: The Bishop’s Riverside Plaza, located on the corner of 10th Street West and 1st Avenue West.
Cost: Observing is free. The Planetarium show is $3 per person. Food and drink, including beer and wine, will be available for purchase.
Please note: This event is weather-dependent. Updates regarding cancellation will be sent to the email addresses attached to the registration. The main museum and manatee habitat will be closed during this event. The only animals allowed onsite are service animals.
*** Must be present to enter—one entry per person. The drawing will take place at 10pm. Local pickup only. No purchase necessary.
