Venice Theatre is bringing classic rock to Florida’s Cultural Coast® with the Alter Eagles at the Venice Community Center on April 14 and Simply Clapton at the Venice Performing Arts Center on April 21. Both concerts are at 7:30 p.m. with ticket prices ranging from $50 to $55. A $6 restoration fee is added to each ticket at checkout with proceeds going toward rebuilding the Jervey Theatre which was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian.
The Alter Eagles tribute show is a favorite of Venice Theatre patrons. For over 15 years, the group has been astonishing audiences across the United States with its inspiring tribute to the number one-selling band in North America. Having performed over 2,000 shows, making them one of the most prolific tribute acts today, Alter Eagles is comprised of versatile musicians and vocalists who play multiple instruments during the show. Ticket buyers can expect to hear all The Eagles’ greatest songs, from their earliest classics like “Take It Easy,” “Desperado,” and “One of These Nights” to huge hits like “Heartache Tonight” and “Hotel California.”
Simply Clapton, A Tribute to Slowhand, is a new addition to the Venice Theatre Concert Series. The act stars Mike Imbasciani with special guest Will Johns, nephew of Eric Clapton, who took his first lessons from “Uncle Eric” himself. Imbasciani and Johns will take audiences on a journey through the music history of Eric Clapton with tunes from his years with the BluesBreakers, Cream, and Derek & the Dominos. This unique tribute will also include songs from the “guitar god’s” successful solo career from 1973 to the present.
The Venice Theatre Concert Series continues through May with Let’s Hang On, A Frankie Valli Tribute on May 4; Can’t Get Next to You, A Tribute to the Temptations on May 18; and Sharon Owen’s Tribute to Barbra on May 19. Venice Theatre’s concerts will continue to be held at other community venues until the Jervey Theatre restoration is complete.
Audiences interested in the concert series and all Venice Theatre shows through May 2025 can find more information and tickets at VeniceTheatre.org or by calling the box office at 941-488-1115.
