We did a Pictorial Review of the
Village Tavern in Alpharetta just outside Atlanta in May 2010.
Little did we know that when we chose them that they are one of
the local favorites. Our guests raved about them and said they had
been there many times before.
The reason we
chose the Village Tavern is because they have a restaurant in
Boynton Beach and Pembroke Pines in Florida as well as North Carolina, Alabama and
Colorado for when you are traveling and want a great restaurant
at a reasonable price.

We had already picked out the
Banana Crepes which we had finished when the Manager showed up and
said you have to try this: Dessert Sampler Apple Cobbler,
Key Lime Pie,
St. Barths Chocolate Torte................ladies to die for trust
us. OK there were four of us and we could handle it:)

Banana Crepes
French crepes layered with Nutella and Banana Ice Cream, fresh
banana, caramel & chocolate sauces.

We sampled their Rodney Strong pinot noir for those who prefer a
red wine.

Village Tavern is the
winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence

On the way home we went by the Alpharetta Town Hall. It's just
such a great quaint town.

Shannon a Manager, Barbara the floor host and Bret the waiter
made for an extremely enjoyable evening.

Hot Crab Dip, Backfin crab meat with toasted
garlic bread. We could live on their appetizers alone. This dish is scrum shish.

Flash-Fried Calamari
Served with Thai Chili sauce. The lightest freshest, most tender calamari we
have ever found. A must have for calamari lovers, there is plenty to share.

We had a medley of seafood for dinner entrees, top left scallops, seafood
fettuccini, crab cakes, Ahi tuna.

Maryland - Style Crab Cakes packed to the hilt
with real crab, no filler, baby you have come to the right place for the best
crab cakes where every bite of crab is savored.

We tried their new Cajun Seafood fettuccine
with sautéed jumbo shrimp, scallops tossed in a light cream sauce that was out
of this world. Andouille sausage and the green and red peppers added a nice
touch.
A sampling of some specials they run
include the following and more. Subject to change.
Tavern
Twosome -
Dine in pairs and save.
Enjoy two salads and two pizzas for $20 OR one appetizer and two entrées from
a select menu for $25.
Live Music –
Enjoy live
music by Steve Ward on
Tuesdays and Burt Mabry on Thursdays from 7 to 10 pm.
Wine and Dine
Wednesdays – Savor all wines by the glass for half price.
Temptation
Thursdays – Enjoy great drink specials in the bar, and ladies receive
half-priced appetizers beginning at 4 pm.

The outside of the building is very country as
if you were entering a little village country side inn.

The bar lounge area accommodates diners as
well as sippers:)

The dining room is accent lighted to give a romantic and
peaceful feeling. Tall booths gave you plenty of privacy and the entire
dining room was very quiet considering the size.

A young group of prom goers were
politely seated near us. They had a great time.

The outside pation area was closed when we arrived due
to rain otherwise we would have sat outside.

Grilled Pacific Ahi Tuna drizzled with
honey wasabi and plum sauce, served with asparagus and rice on the side.
Our guest was a ahi tuna lover and said this is the best around:)

Pan seared very large and tender scallops served with
mashed potatoes and asparagus. Deliciously filling:) and ever so sweet.
